All photographs on Floridensis were composed and processed by Janson Jones, a Volusia county native raised in the tangles of the Tomoka basin and Ormond Beach. Though most posts will focus on Floridian wildlife, ecology, and environments, please note that Floridensis will also share perspectives from across the North American continent -- all the way up and west to Alaska. All photographed organisms were wild and non-captive unless explicitly noted otherwise. A species index is provided below; more general categorical links are provided in the top-banner menu. This iteration of Floridensis was born on 29 May 2019.
Freshwater Habitats: Photographs taken on various kayak sojourns throughout Florida's freshwater habitats.
From Alaska to Florida, 2011: In the summer of 2011, I sojourned 7,221 miles from Alaska to Florida, exploring the vast range of North American eco-diversity, camping, hiking, and photographing along the way. From mountains to deserts, from glaciers to swamps, it was a bewilderingly awesome trip. These are the photos I collected along the way.
