Sistrurus miliarius barbouri, the Dusky pigmy rattlesnake;
Volusia county, Florida (02 April 2023).
Here’s another Dusky pigmy rattlesnake from my home turf. This particular Dusky pigmy rattlesnake was quite content to hold its position and sit still for me — as they often do. I’ve truly grown to love and adore this species over the past few years. Venomous, yes. Aggressive? Not in the slightest.
