Ardea alba, the Great egret;
Miami-Dade county, Florida (14 March 2023).
Spring Break 2023

I snagged a quick snapshot of this Great egret perched adjacent to a large group of Wood storks. The Great egret is likely one of the most observed species in the state, along with the similarly-sized Great blue heron. They’re hard to miss!
