Next up (again on the road) was an Everglades racer snake. Though I remain fairly dubious and skeptical of the subspecies designation, Everglades racers are virtually identical to our Southern black racers (Coluber constrictor priapus) in central Florida — only the Everglades variant sports a lighter dorsal tone than the Southern black variant.
