Next up was another Florida cottonmouth. As is usually (but not always) the case, the cottonmouth was fairly patient of my presence. It didn’t even throw me a defensive mouth-gape. It just sort of chilled out in its spot, waiting to see what I’d do next (and what action would need to be taken). As it turned out, the hominid with the magic Nikon box snagged a few pictures and then backed off, leaving the snake to go about its business in peace.
