Time to Retire Floridensis

Heya, folks ~

With the close of this calamitous year, and with a general sense of existential exhaustion in the air, I’m retiring Floridensis and personal website management. Floridensis has taken quite a bit of time and energy to maintain and build (not to mention $$$), and I’m feeling fairly weathered down by everything. It’s been a long couple of years, and I want to clear the air for 2021, so to speak, and simplify my digital life.

I’ll leave Floridensis up for the time being —until my subscriptions expire in February of 2021–, but I probably won’t be updating it anymore. I will continue to be active on social media, however. Feel free to follow my (fancier) wildlife and ecology photography at https://500px.com/p/jansonjones. You can also find me trolling along the digital malarkey on Twitter (https://twitter.com/floridensis).

I wish you and yours the very best in 2021!

Best,
Janson

  1. Truly sorry to see you retiring Floridensis. I just happened to stumble upon it when searching Florida crabs, and thought what a cool, informative, and well laid out website. Anyhow, I fully understand your desire to simplify your digital life and the cost you’ve incurred bringing your knowledge to others.

Wishing you the very best and hope to meet you someday, Bob S. Vero Beach, FL

    • Rock on, Bob ~~ and thanks! I’ll still be active around the social media universe (namely Twitter and iNaturalist) and will probably miss the Helsinki out of Floridensis come summer. heh. But, alas! I do believe the time has come to shift gears somewhat. Thanks again for the kind words — and keep looking outdoors! Vero is excellent, btw. Most excellent sketch of coast!

      Best,
      Janson
