Nerodia taxispilota, the Brown watersnake;
Volusia county, Florida (30 April 2020)

This was a fairly massive Brown watersnake, presumably gravid given her general girth. I found her resting about five feet off the ground in a palm overhanging a dark water creek. Brown watersnakes do indeed love to bask-on-high.
