Gastrophryne carolinensis, the Eastern narrowmouth toad;
Lake county, Florida (27 June 2014).

This species is arguably my spirit animal — perhaps not physically, but behaviorally. The Eastern narrowmouth toad is a shy and reclusive amphibian and spends much of its time hidden from the world around it.
