Anaxyrus terrestris, the Southern toad;
Lake county, Florida (14 June 2014).

Still fairly young and sharp in its patterning, I photographed this Southern toad at my mother’s home in Mount Dora, Florida. Though Southern toads are in no way “rare,” I’m repeatedly surprised by how abundant they can be in Lake county.
