Though I’m not possible, I’m wondering if this Florida green watersnake was sporting signs of Snake Fungal Disease? The infection behind the right eye was fairly nasty. This is the first Florida green watersnake I’ve photographed in this area of Lake county with such an infection/wound behind the eye scales. The snake seemed to be otherwise healthy (not emaciated, highly alert, etc).
