Arctia plantaginis, the Wood tiger

I’m not 100% sure with the identification, but I believe this is a Wood tiger caterpillar romping about the rocky edges of Denali National Park in central Alaska. In adult form, this moth species is typically black and white. You’d be surprised by all the nifty (and resilient) insects that thrive during the short Alaskan summer.
