Pantherophis alleghaniensis, the Eastern rat snake;
aka the “Yellow rat snake”
Volusia county, Florida (10 June 2019).
Learn more about the Eastern rat snake at iNaturalist.org.

NOTE: The rat snake is taking down a Carolina wren, Thryothorus ludovicianus. Mom and dad Carolina wren had set up a low-lying nest in my backyard (using an old water feature “cave” thing). Needless to say, this rat snake pretty much ended all of their dreams of domestic tranquility.
